Unsecured business loans
A fixed amount over a fixed term with set repayments you can budget around. Decided on your trading, not three years of accounts, and funded directly by us.
How an unsecured business loan works
You borrow a fixed sum, repay it over a fixed term in equal monthly or weekly instalments, and know the whole schedule before you sign. "Unsecured" means no charge over property or equipment; the lender relies on the company's trading and, in almost every case, a personal guarantee from a director. Because we assess affordability on six months of bank statements rather than filed accounts, decisions come in hours rather than the six to eight weeks a high-street bank takes, and a limited trading history or a thin credit file is not an automatic no.
We price the loan as a fixed cost agreed up front rather than a rate that floats, so the total repayable is one number. Settle early and the cost for the months you didn't use isn't charged.
How it works
Four steps, with the timings we actually work to.
Apply online
Business name, what you do, roughly what goes through the till, the amount and what it's for. No credit search at this stage.
A specialist calls you back
Confirms it's a fit, tells you which product suits the numbers and what it would typically cost. If it isn't a fit, you hear that now.
Decision in writing
Send six months of bank statements (open banking takes under a minute), card statements if you take cards, and photo ID. The offer shows the amount, the total to repay and how it's collected.
Funds in your account
E-sign, and the money goes to the business account. Repayments start as agreed.

Unsecured vs secured business loan
| Unsecured loan | Secured loan | |
|---|---|---|
| Security | None over assets; director's personal guarantee | Charge over property or equipment |
| Speed | Decision in hours, funds in days | Weeks: valuations and legal work |
| Amount | £10,000 to £500,000 | Often higher, tied to asset value |
| Cost | Higher, reflecting the lack of security | Lower, because the lender can recover the asset |
| Risk to you | Personal guarantee if the company defaults | Loss of the secured asset if the company defaults |
| Best for | Working capital, equipment, growth under £500k | Property, large long-term investment |
What owners use it for
Personal guarantees, explained properly
Almost every unsecured business loan in the UK is backed by a personal guarantee from a director, and ours are no different. In plain terms: if the company cannot repay, the lender can ask you personally for the shortfall. It isn't a charge on your home and it doesn't appear on your personal credit file while the loan is performing, but it is a serious commitment, and we'd rather you read it than skim it. Applying with us runs no credit search; a search at offer stage is done only with your consent.
A direct lender, in plain terms
Our own underwriters. Your file isn't sold on to a panel or passed around a market; the people who assess it are the people who fund it.
The total on your offer, nothing before funds are released. No application fee, no broker commission built into your price.
Finance to UK limited companies and LLPs for business purposes is not regulated consumer credit. The legal name of the funding entity is on every offer document.
Questions about unsecured business loans
What rates do you charge on business loans?
We quote a fixed cost of funding rather than a floating rate, typically between 1% and 2% per month flat on the amount borrowed, depending on trading history and term. The total repayable is on your offer before you sign.
How long does approval take?
In as little as 3 hours once six months of bank statements and ID are in. Funds usually land within 24 hours of signing.
Do you need accounts or a business plan?
No. We assess on six months of bank statements and recent trading. Filed accounts help where they exist but aren't required.
Can I repay early?
Yes, with no penalty. The cost for the remaining months isn't charged.
Is a personal guarantee required?
Yes, from a director, as on virtually every unsecured business loan in the UK. There is no charge over property.
Can I get a loan with bad credit?
A thin or imperfect credit file is not an automatic decline. We look at current trading first. Unresolved CCJs or insolvency are usually a no.
What's the maximum I can borrow?
£500,000 as standard; more case by case. As a guide, most loans are between one and three months of bank turnover.
Monthly or weekly repayments?
Either. Weekly suits businesses with daily cash flow (hospitality, retail); monthly suits trades and B2B firms paid on invoice.
Will applying affect my credit score?
No. The enquiry runs no search. Any search at offer stage is with your consent.
How is this different from a merchant cash advance?
A loan has fixed repayments and a fixed end date; an advance flexes with your card takings and has neither. If most of your money comes through a card machine and trade is seasonal, the advance usually fits better.
